Ford’s Racing Division Offers Rally Package For Fiesta

Rally racing has gained popularity in the U.S. in recent years, especially among younger drivers who got acquainted with the sport through video games or extreme-sports television coverage. Now Ford is rolling out the Fiesta R2 rally package for aspiring rally drivers interested in souping up their Fiestas.

With the parts installed, Ford says the Fiesta will be ready to compete in RallyCar’s Rally America National Championship series. The package, which has been on the market in Europe for years, is now available through Team O’Neil Motorsports, a division of Team O’Neil Rally School, located in New Hampshire, a longtime hotbed of rallying in the U.S.

“The spirit of One Ford is making it possible for us to bring the best of European rally racing to competitors in the U.S.,” said Jamie Allison, director, Ford North America Motorsport. “The Fiesta R2 has already proven itself in Europe as a great platform for aspiring rally drivers.

The kit was developed by M-Sport, a partner with Ford’s World Rally Championship program since 1997. It includes engine, chassis, brake, suspension and other upgrades that convert a production-line Fiesta into a rally-ready machine.
