Electric Daihatsu Mira Van does 623 miles on one charge!

Last year in November, the Japan Electric Vehicle Club made a small electric van and drove it the farthest an electric car has gone, 345 miles. But just recently have they really out done themselves. They reduced weight by integrating carbon fiber into places like the seats and used great Toyo tires that are the lowest rated rolling resistance that they could find. It took 17 drivers, and 27.5 hours, but with the same same Sanyo battery, they went a record breaking 623 miles!!!
Because it is expensive, we won't see this car hit production any time soon, but it is a step in the right direction.
