Yesterday kicked off the 2009 Rolex 24 hour at Daytona International Speedway. The race doesn't start until Saturday at 3:30 and ends exactly a day later on Sunday.
But yesterday a few of my colleagues and I went up for a few hours and got garage passes to talk to a few people and to check out some super fast cars. Of course the Daytona
Prototypes were there screaming along the Infield. A few cars weren't having that great of a day but a couple of meaty Mustangs, BMW's, and some really fast Porches just tore up
the road and tires just for practice.
A couple of qualifying laps went on a little later in the afternoon for placement in the KONI Challenge, the Rolex Series DP, the Rolex Series GT, KONE Challenge ST, and the KONI Challenge GS. Today they are having the Rolex Series final qualifying, some practice for the KONI Challenge Fresh from Florida 200 that starts at 1:45, and there is more throughout the mid day.
All of us here at Motosports, Ltd. hope you can get a chance to head out to the track at Daytona this weekend, meet some cool new people, and see some high performance driving
machines putting down some fast laps at one of the most world renown tracks.
